ABOUT ME
Welcome.
How brave and courageous to explore newness for yourself.
My name is Charis Santiago and I am a 2nd generation Filipina-Canadian therapist who provides relational analytic counselling services in Victoria, BC and telehealth.
I am passionate about working with you surrounding a wide range of mental health issues. My specialties include working with issues of trauma and sexual abuse, racial/ethnic and identity development, issues with family and unconscious work towards intrapsychic integration.
I previously worked at Navos Mental Health Agency in Child, Youth and Family Services, in Seattle, WA. There, I worked with children and youth ages 5-19 and their caregiver(s), utilizing an attachment based, trauma informed and culturally aware therapeutic approach. I have also worked at Cedars at Cobble Hill Addiction Treatment Facility in Cobble Hill, BC, supporting adults through trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing, and grief work.
I hold membership in the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, RCC#: 18132. In my work, I consult with specialists when necessary, and actively pursue continuing education in my areas of focus. I receive ongoing supervision and consistently engage my own personal therapy.
